Room 8: The Laundress's Room

     The rear section of the third floor was reserved for the servants and three rooms share one bath. The Laundress’s room is the smallest room in the mansion and befitted her station in the servant hierarchy. This small cozy room opens to a small living area in which the servants could gather. It is furnished with a double bed, dresser, towel rack, desk and desk chair, and a closet. The subway-tiled full bath includes a large claw-foot tub/shower, a pedestal sink, medicine cabinet, and toilet. In the hall, just outside the Laundress’s room, is the servant call button box, showing from which room the family had summoned one of the servants.
